Integrating suppliers and consumers into a supply chain operation
It's time to UNLOCK and discover the solution. Click the PLAY button
When organizations run into a supply chain problem, their only option would be to contact the supplier and inquire about the situation. When your business sees suppliers and customers as an extension of its operations, then the organization knows where the supplier got sourcing from and that the sourcing supplier was having trouble. They would know not to expect more inventory to be available from that supplier any time soon. They could then try to find a similar inventory from another supplier.
Integrating all corporate operations into a broader supply chain is yet another option. In order to better serve their consumers, organizations may communicate with their suppliers about what their customers are requesting rather than just ordering additional inventory from the supplier. The supplier can then contact its own suppliers and order whatever it needs to make more of what the customers are most interested in buying.
