Leadership Transition - Dr. Derek Westfall Appointed as Chairman of the EREB

May 2025 – Toronto, Canada – VCARE Academy is honored to announce the appointment of Dr. Derek Westfall as the new Chairman of the Education and Research Executive Board (EREB), succeeding Dr. Robert B. Pojasek, who has served with distinction since April 2021.

This transition comes as Dr. Pojasek formally hands over the Chairmanship to Dr. Westfall due to growing health challenges. As a founding member of VCARE Academy, Dr. Pojasek has played a vital role in shaping the Academy’s academic direction and global reputation. His wisdom, integrity, and unwavering encouragement have been instrumental in VCARE’s growth and identity. While he passes the Chairmanship to his colleague and fellow founding member, Dr. Derek Westfall, Dr. Pojasek remains an enduring source of inspiration for our team, faculty, and global partners. Dr. Pojasek brought with him decades of expertise in risk management, sustainability, and international standards. His commitment to excellence, strategic perspective, and steadfast support helped build the foundation on which VCARE continues to grow. We extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Pojasek for his invaluable leadership and continued motivation to the global VCARE community. His legacy is deeply embedded in our DNA and will guide us for years to come.

Assuming the role of Chairman is Dr. Derek Westfall—another founding member of VCARE Academy and a globally recognized supply chain strategist, educator, and change leader. With over 36 years of cross-industry and academic experience, Dr. Westfall brings a powerful combination of practical insight and academic rigor to his new leadership role.

Dr. Westfall’s distinguished career includes key roles at The Boeing Company, where he was acknowledged as a subject matter expert in supply chain transformation, as well as leadership positions at PECO, Blount, Intel Corporation, and Oregon State University. He has helped multiple organizations integrate Third Party Logistics (3PL’s), Lean Principles and technologies such as RFID, and robotics into next-generation supply chain frameworks, and is the author of the widely acclaimed book "How to Create a Winning 3PL Partnership."

Both Dr. Bob and Dr. Derek have been instrumental to VCARE’s mission since day one. We are immensely thankful for Dr. Pojasek’s lasting contributions and are delighted to welcome Dr. Westfall as Chairman, whose leadership marks the beginning of a new chapter of innovation and global impact.
