Dr. Rahaf Ajaj

Dr. Rahaf Ajaj is an accomplished academic and researcher specializing in Environmental Health and Safety. Currently serving as a University Professor at Abu Dhabi University, she is recognized for her expertise in sustainable development, radiation safety, and environmental sciences. Dr. Ajaj holds a strong educational foundation, having completed her studies at UAE University and postdoctoral research at Carleton University in Canada.


With over 15 years of professional experience, Dr. Ajaj has made significant contributions to academia and research, authoring over 21 high-impact publications. Her research portfolio includes advanced gamma-ray spectrometry for radionuclide analysis, applications in aerospace missions, and groundbreaking work in public health and climate change. She leads the Climate Change and Public Health research cluster under the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. She is the UAE chapter leader for Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) Canada.


Dr. Ajaj is a Fellow of Advance HE committed to academic excellence, curriculum development, and student mentorship. She deeply fosters innovation and sustainability, serving on prestigious boards such as the Education and Research Practitioner Board (ERPB) for VCARE Academy and co-chairing international conferences like IPPC9. Her leadership extends to initiatives promoting gender equity and youth empowerment in climate action.


Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Ajaj actively collaborates with global organizations to advance research and innovation in renewable energy, public health, and environmental sustainability. Her dedication to shaping the future of education and research makes her a respected voice in her field.
