Supply Chain Solutions Strategist

Cristina Radu is an expert in supply chain planning and mathematical optimization, with over 12 years of experience delivering high-impact solutions across more than 35 optimization-driven projects worldwide.

A unique blend of mathematician, supply chain strategist, and technical specialist Cristina helps organizations implement planning tools using a human-centric approach which transforms software from a technical asset into a tool that empowers people in their daily work.

Currently serving as a Supply Chain Solutions Strategist at Sage Optimization (her company) and the visionary founder of Optimization4All—a leading platform for Operations Research (OR) practitioners—Cristina bridges the gap between technical sophistication and business pragmatism.

Her mission is to empower planners, key-users, and decision-makers to understand capabilities of planning and optimization software, creating clarity, control, and trust in data-driven decision-making systems.

Cristina has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mathematics from University College Dublin.

Her consulting portfolio includes expertise with leading supply chain software platforms such as ANAPLAN, OMP, o9 Solutions, Arkieva, and modeling environments like AMPL. She has worked with both commercial and open-source solvers including Gurobi, Mosek, Xpress, CP-SAT, and HiGHS, giving her a diverse and vendor-agnostic perspective.

Cristina’s hands-on experience spans a wide variety of optimization domains:

  • Network design and supply chain footprint optimization

  • Production and distribution streamlining

  • Blending optimization (milk, tea)

  • Meat balancing and packaging planning

  • Vessel loading and cutting optimization

  • Multi-echelon inventory optimization (MEIO)

As a modeling expert, she applies a wide range of mathematical techniques including linear programming (LP), mixed-integer programming (MIP), constraint programming (CP), nonlinear programming, and heuristic algorithms such as genetic algorithms, bringing both precision and adaptability to complex business problems.

Cristina is known for her ability to translate "black-box" models into transparent tools that users can trust and control. Her strategic guidance helps organizations:

  • Align planning tools with strategic, tactical, and operational decision levels

  • Remove unnecessary technical jargon and foster cross-functional collaboration

  • Build trust in AI/optimization-based decisions by clarifying how models work

  • Maximize ROI on existing planning tools and identify the right next step in a VUCA world

Cristina helps organizations evaluate their current tools or select the right tools, evolve their decision-making systems, and create a resilient, transparent, and human-aligned supply chain planning culture.
