TRI-VIZOR, World’s First Cross Supply Chain® Orchestrator™
Alex Van Breedam (°19 October 1965) is a leading innovator in supply chain strategy and cross-company collaboration. He holds a degree as Commercial Engineer (1988) and earned his PhD in Applied Economic Sciences (1994) from the University of Antwerp. He also completed a Master in Statistics and Operations Research (1989) at the Free University of Brussels.
After completing his PhD, Alex co‑founded ORINOCO, a University of Antwerp spin‑off specialized in logistics optimisation. Following ORINOCO’s acquisition by KPMG in 1997, he became director and later partner at KPMG. From 2000 to 2002, he advised global companies as an independent strategic consultant in supply chain management.
In 2002, Alex was invited to launch the Flanders Institute of Logistics (VIL), where he served as its first CEO from 2003 to 2008. Afterward, he founded TRI-VIZOR, the world’s first Cross Supply Chain Orchestrator, a pioneering spin‑off enabling collaborative logistics ecosystems. He continues to lead TRI-VIZOR today as shareholder and CEO.
Alex has a long-standing passion for education and talent development. He designed and launched the International Master in Global Supply Chain Management at the Antwerp Management School, a program that has been running since 2012. He is also a part‑time guest professor at the Catholic University of Leuven, University of Hasselt and IESEG School of Management.
He has also served for 12 years on the Board of Directors of WDP, a listed international semi‑industrial real estate company, and on the SCOR Technical Development Steering Committee of the Supply Chain Council (USA) from 2004 to 2007.
In recognition of his contributions to innovation and thought leadership in logistics, Alex received the Logistics and Supply Chain Professional of the Year award from the European Logistics Association (2014).
Since 2020 and as a lasting contribution to the profession, he started the ISCN.Academy platform, a streaming and knowledge platform for supply chain professionals.
