Jan De Kimpe is a master in economics and an experienced Supply Chain and Logistics expert who makes it his mission to find a balance between advisory/expertise and learning / training. Jan believes in a strong collaboration with the companies he is working out solutions for, at all levels of the organization, assuring joint decision making for successful change. He also believes in data for thorough evaluation and decision support.

After a history at newspaper Het Volk, Packinn, Europdata Systems/Zetes, KPMG and IBM BCS, Jan started his own consultancy Logisol Pro in 2002. Multiple projects in various sectors show his competencies in distribution logistics: warehousing, transportation, inventory optimization and deployment and distribution network optimization. Jan has a broad experience in warehousing: concept and design, processes, evaluations and KPI, WMS, physical automation, process automation, auto ID, 3PL selection, lean warehousing, e-commerce, retail, pharma, food, building materials, cosmetics, FMCG, automotive, chemical industry, 3PL and transport, high-tech, metal, textile,… are sectors in which Jan has been working.

Since 2018, Jan is also affiliated to ART4L, a technology company active in hands-free working based on various hands-free and sensitive IOT technologies. Jan likes to keep a finger on technology, IT and automation in logistics/supply chain management.

In addition, Jan is also a guest professor at KU Leuven and teaches for various institutions such as BCCL, PICS Belgium, Value Chain, Kulak, Vives, Odisee. Jan was till February 2026 President at PICS Belgium, a member association for logistics and supply chain professionals that is responsible for APICS/ASCM training in Belgium and also provides company visits, seminars and training. Jan is CLTD-certified and also teaches this course.

Jan also regularly writes articles for Value Chain magazine, distributed in Flanders and The Netherlands.
